Example: BREEAM In-Use

Obtaining a BREEAM In-Use certification is a significant marker of commitment to environmental stewardship for asset owners, signifying both a strategic investment in long-term asset value and operational efficiency. This certification offers a comprehensive framework to assess and elevate environmental performance in the hospitality sector. Achieving BREEAM In-Use standards demonstrates a dedication to sustainable practices, yielding benefits like enhanced regulatory compliance, increased asset value, reduced operational costs, and heightened customer satisfaction.

As licensed BREEAM In-Use assessors, the Considerate Group team can support a BREEAM In-Use certification project from beginning to end. From pre-assessments, to support in implementing recommendations, all the way through to submitting the final certification report to the scheme operator, Considerate Group endeavours to make the experience of pursuing certification as stress-free and straightforward as possible.

A standard journey to BREEAM In-Use certification can be seen below:

  • Step 1: Pre-assesment and recommendations

    • Considerate Group assessors will carry out a gap analysis against BREEAM In-Use criteria through a mixture of calls/meetings and a full-day site visit.

    • Output: Recommendations report, covering current score, and providing a pathway to the client's target score.

  • Step 2: Implementation support

    • Considerate Group will support in the implementation of the recommendations and collection of evidence to achieve the BREEAM In-Use target score, through regular checkins with both asset ownership and on-site teams.

    • Output: Successful implementation of recommendations for target BREEAM In-Use score.

  • Step 3: Formal BREEAM In-Use

    • Once recommendations have been implemented, and sign-off given by the client to proceed with certification, Considerate Group will schedule a site visit and formally assess the property.

    • Output: Submission of evidence and assessor report to BRE, BREEAM In-Use certificate.
